Re: Emoji special characters cause SQL errors

Newer versions of the forum software should have resolved this issue, however upgrading to the most recent phpbb is a very time consuming process, and at this time unlikely, as the game will be ending in 2017

Re: Chat Web Not Working

While Flamingolar is, in fact, deceased (maybe one day a ritual can be performed for his resurrection), I was able to do some work last night on the Chat online indicator. It now updates dynamically again. Unfortunately, it doesn't work quite the same way it used to. It now shows everyone connected ...

Re: Unable to connect from certain devices

This should now be fixed, but the issue at heart here was that the SSL certificate wasn't valid for the site. I had to disable SSL temporarily in order to get the website to even power up. Stored bookmarks on the https version of the website, and even some browsers which automatically go to https if...

Re: PM Groups and Misclicks

As a note on this for staff, if you wish to keep PM groups enabled, but want to ensure people can't send to groups they're not part of, a hidden group can only be sent messages by that group's members. Public/Open group: Name will show up in PM list, can be PM'd by anyone Hidden group: Name will onl...

I'll see if I can find an older version of FIrefox to try with - are you able to run a more recent version?

Re: firefox

I'm trying to reproduce any example of the problem here and finding myself unable to. Can you give me more details? Are you accessing via Firefox on a PC? Mac? Linux? Android Tablet? iOS Tablet? What version of Firefox are you running? Are you running any extensions/plugins that might do anything to...

Re: Create Linked Account

The only recently changed thing on the boards (at all) was to change the cookie path from "masquerade.endogaming.net" to ".masquerade.endogaming.net" - this should have little to no effect. I just tested after switching the cookie back and had no luck there either. Trying to see if I can nail down w...

Re: Influence Boards

There's something wrong with the forum tree, and I'm not entirely certain what it is. When I look at the permissions tree I see forums that appear to be children of forums they aren't children of... When you open the forum's properties it looks correct though... Even stranger, manually browsing the ...

Re: https support?

The SNI compatible versions of openssl and apache aren't pre-packaged with CentOS 5.x. It's totally possible for me to recompile the required packages manually, but at that point I need to recompile them any time there's a security upgrade... way too lazy to keep my own manually compiled packages. I...

Re: https support?

This site runs on a server shared by at least 3 other games, plus a number of other services that I run personally. A non-wildcard certificate isn't actually useful in this situation, since you cannot have more than one certificate on an IP address (due to how SSL works - the certificate is exchange...

I've been meaning to get in and start rewrtiing the character sheet system for some time now... this may happen in the near future - hopefully getting rid of the technical issues that staff has experienced with that system.
