Re: Kids and LARPing
I've been to games where people have brought their kids and their kids clearly aren't interested in gaming. I've been when people have brought their kids who are all about it. In general, I'm with Ginger on it being rated R. The only difference of opinion I have is, if there is a child shadowing und...

Re: On NEEPs
So, Grue initially came in as a hacker, just that. He eventually got specced out into being just a pure hacker. The thing though, is that he's spent more time in the past couple years convincing people not to use him as a hacker than as a hacker. What I feel weird about is, well, Grue's had not much...

Re: On NEEPs
I wouldn't mind the idea of Neeps basically only being used at best for little things here and there. In general, I'm against the idea of a hard cap on xp, simply because well, I buy skills/disciplines as the character goes. Honestly, if need expendatures stop? I'd be fine with it. I like the idea o...

Re: Character Sheets Online
Alright. In that case, for similar reasons, I much much much prefer to do the spends in person. It allows little things such as "Oh hey, you have x many neeps" and some form of discussion and thought in it. I actually prefer the xp spends in downtime to be the exception, rather than rule.

Re: Character Sheets Online
So, please, correct me if I'm reading this wrong. But I got an implication that comes off that it seems like you're considering just dropping the paper sheets. I'm against this, largely due to the assumption it makes that everyone has a smart phone. I don't, and I find it more of a hassle to have to...

So, not really a problem so much, but essentially just sent a PM from this account to this account largely for keeping notes on something in the inbox. I sent it to a folder I set up for notes and well... I now have -1 unread messages. Not really board crashing or anything, just... Something that's ...

Re: Ralph's thoughts on rules
I notice that there are two topics within this thread. One with players discussing out of game culture and player recruitment/retention. Another discussing the rules. Suggest keeping on topic of the rules discussion within this thread, and, if parties are interested, opening a new thread discussing ...

Re: Ralph's thoughts on rules
[edit to add] TL; DR: "If you do not like the By Night solution, get us as a game group organized to find a better solution," said Dorian. I have to take a moment here against this sentiment. I understand that there's problems, but to to me, it sounds like you're saying "If I am hesitant on switchi...

Re: Ralph's thoughts on rules
As for the new MET system: I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is an underlying thing about the alpha slices that I don't really like. It's not out yet, and it might change. But so far, probably the biggest one for me is that currently, yes, there's some alpha slices, but no completed produ...

Re: Blood, Willpower, Herd, and mechanics. (But mostly blood
If we had a few more primogen on the council, I would absolutely love to bring that back. I didn't really experience any of that, but as a whole, it sounds like it would bring some nice politics in game and in the hands of the players.

Re: Blood, Willpower, Herd, and mechanics. (But mostly blood
My thoughts on blood is that if a scene should happen, then at least on SOME level, it shouldn't be a happy thing for all around. You are, after all, taking blood, through force, trickery, or other methods, and there should at least be some sort of dirty feeling about that. As for pulling dominoes? ...

Re: Ignoring Alts in Uptime.
Even if your just using auspex to eavesdrop guess what? Your too tuned in to that other conversation to hear the one going on next to you. If your not standing there it makes no sense that you would hear anything. If you're using auspex to eavesdrop and a conversation happens next to where you're s...

Re: Ignoring Alts in Uptime.
One topic that came up in this is the "I was here the whole time, what did I miss?" aspect of dealing with that call. I think this is it's own little topic on its own. Especially if someone walks in a scene, doesn't see the person, then assumes that that person is there. Related was an incident on F...

Re: Ignoring Alts in Uptime.
My perspective on alts in downtime is that if there is a back and forth, I prefer it in PM. This has the paperwork issue of establishing what my character does and does not know, and through messaging, it can suspend enough belief that any character I have can be literally anywhere, and is just resp...

I believe Gerard aalso was trying to get his range as a rant house. Thus my confusion and bringing up the question of "Is it a gun range or not?"

Re: Missing: Have you seen me?
But if you have an idea of when and where your character is and want some sort of past background with a character, that's usually a decent thing that you can tell us to see who probably qualifies.

PC tie in
Adam Green here. If the in game announcement hasn't made it clear, I'm not going to be playing Taneli. I'm planning a Ventrue from Chicago, around 40 years of age as a kindred. Anyone up for a tie in, by all means, send a PM my way.
