Bela's Ball.

Post by Elijah »

Hey folks.

So I got a call yesterday from the producer of a show happening on July 2nd. He's trying to reach out to vampire LARPers in general to get them to come out to the concert, and as he said "Continue your LARP during our event."

It's kind of short notice, but I thought I'd post the announcement here and see if anyone was interested in this. Here is the email he sent me with more details:
Brian Gardner wrote:Hi Ralph!

So, here's a link to the event: http://www.swinggoth.com/sf/belasball/

You were the first person I contacted, but I'm going to continue
reaching out to people in the LARP community. Please feel free to help
me spread the word. If it's something you or any of the other LARP
games around wanted to work into your story, or put together a one-off
I would be more than willing to give the GM's free admission and the
players tickets to the event for $15 (which is cheaper than any
presales).

You can see our past events here: http://www.youtube.com/swinggoth

As you can see, it's going to be a phenomenal event. Not as crowded as
the SF Wonderland ball that we threw (that was 720), probably more in
the 400-500 range... and a perfect environment for LARPing! Also, good
publicity for you all. You might just get some new players. I wish I'd
thought of including you all sooner. Hopefully it's not too late. :-)

Best,
Brian

I was sent the following regarding the same event -
Mark wrote:Hey Lindsay,

I'm PMing you directly because I thought it would be rude to just post on the board.

I wanted to let you and your players know that there is a Vampire Ball coming up in San Francisco, and we're welcoming LARPers to just come and have a good time, or to even set up a game during the event. We are prepared to offer GMs/Storytellers free admission and their players $15, for those who are interested in setting up a gaming event. If there is enough interest, we are trying to set aside special areas specifically for in-character gaming. The games can be one offs with the other gaming groups together, or seperate worked into your storyline. We will attempt to accomodate enough in-character space as there is demand, as well as ooc space for just fun times.

The event is all ages and will be held at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, July 2nd, at 7:30 pm. I'll attach the event spiel below for you. If you're interested in more information or want to contact us in any way, please email me at mark.ribau@gmail.com .

Thanks very much for your time,
Mark

This actually sounds really awesome.

Maybe if enough people are interested, we could meet at game, and then carpool up to the DNA together?

If we have at least one Staff member who wants to go, we could have those who want to go up go up, and those who want to remain in Mountain View, remain in Mountain View.

I've got a truck that will hold four plus gear. Five if you're cozy.

Oh, my, yes! This looks kind of amazingly fun. Yay dress-up!

We have a car that holds us plus 2, or three if you are friendly.

I am totally down, but I am curious as to how we'd weave it into the story of Game, since SF is off limits.

Elijah recently opened a goth nightclub in San Jose, we could call it that location if we wanted...

Or perhaps it's an event hosted at "another city" (like perhaps Sacramento?) Would help explain all of the other "vamps" we'll undoubtedly run into.

I won't be able to make it. I'd still be down for anything going on in Mt. View though.

Won't be able to make it either, but whatever happens back here, I'm down.

Sounds great, but I don't get off work til late and would need to go home and change and stuff after getting off... and would need to carpool. I'm content to stay in Mountain View for this. =/

For those of you still planning on attending -- You are welcome to. If you'd like to pick up your sheets before hand and have it be an event in San Diego at Prince Tara's court - you are welcome to do so as well.

However, with only three staff - we'll all be staying in Mt. View with the rest of the game.

Still, if you go, do enjoy yourselves.

Oooh, Prince Tara's court! I'm her favorite!

I think I'll be stayin' South in Mountain View, then. Maybe next time.
