You can do a few things with the new chat app. It's an IRC core, so you can use any regular IRC program to get to it. Here's what you need to know:
The server is "masquerade.endogaming.net" on port 6667. You can access this from Trillian, Pidgin, mIRC, or other IRC compliant applications.
Commands (FYI, you can type "/help" to get this information on the chat)
Commands begin with / and should be familiar to anyone who has used IRC before - here is a quick summary of the most useful commands.
/me - This turns the text after /me into an action, eg: /me looks around.
/join - Joins the specified channel. eg: /join #cgiirc
/list - Lists all the channels on the network (this outputs a lot of information).
/part - Leaves the current channel (same as clicking the X while in the channel).
/quit - Quits IRC totally (same as clicking X in Status window).
/msg - Sends a private message to a user. eg: /msg someone Hi
/whois - Gives some information about a user.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
Tab Will autocomplete a nickname or channel.
Ctrl+number / Alt+number Will go to that number window if you number the windows from the left (Status = 1 and so on).
Ctrl+B Write "%B" for bold text.
Ctrl+C Write "%C" for colored text.
Cursor Up/Down Move in the command history.

Configuring Trillian for use with Masquerade IRC Chat:
Add a Connection of type "IRC"
- Name your connection whatever you like.
- The line below should be the name you want people to see when you connect.
- The third line should be "masquerade.endogaming.net"
If you'd like to modify advanced settings, you can then click "Settings"
On this page:
- Hostname: masquerade.endogaming.net
- Port: 6667
- No Server Password
- ident string: Your username
- Real name: Whatever you want.

Registering your username (so others can't borrow it)
To register a name, Switch names to the name you wish to use and type
"/nickserv register <password> <e-mail address>"
Once you have registered a name, you need to identify any time you use it.
"/nickserv identify <password>"
To make sure it's set to not let anyone else use it...
"/nickserv set kill quick"
You can also "/nickserv help" to see what other commands Nickserv offers.
You can register a channel through ChanServ once you have a registered nick. "/chanserv help" for more information about Channel Services.

If you protect your alias, obviously, you need to add the password to your Pidgin configuration. (Which works great by the way!)
